“We established our company with my girlfriend Lucie back in 2016 as we truly believed that there’s a missing local carpet cleaning business in Whistler and most importantly business who really cares about environmental changes the planet facing at the moment.

We’re originally from Czech Republic, but we felt in love with the mountains, local community, culture and lifestyle this amazing town offers. That makes our decision to move to Whistler permanently much easier and we’re super happy to be part of this magic town.

Our lifestyle leads to perfectionism, high work ethic and in developing strong relationships with our family, friends and clients. Relationships are one of the most important aspects of life and we always tend to connect with our clients so they know we really care about them and will do everything we possibly can to make them happy. About Eva

Eva moved to Whistler 11 years ago for the winters and quickly fell in love with staying for the summers and falls. You’ll often find her hiking somewhere in the Sea to Sky corridor with her border collie cross, Taco, exploring new lakes and mountain trails. <br></br> Taco’s presence can be requested in advance for any in-person estimate — she has a special way of making every job a little easier and a lot more enjoyable. <br></br> With a degree in International Tourism Management and extensive experience in property management, Eva brings a strong attention to detail and a client-focused approach to every project. Her background ensures exceptional service, particularly for larger or more complex projects. <br></br>> In the summer, you can challenge her to a game of beach volleyball or frisbee golf — she’s always up for some friendly competition.

Romi

About Romi

Romi first landed in Whistler after the 2010 Olympics, and soon, it started to feel like home. She spent two unforgettable years chasing powder and soaking up everything British Columbia has to offer. The mountains and the community made such a lasting impression on her that she eventually moved back together with her husband and two kids—and she’s been proudly calling Whistler her home since 2022. <br></br> With roots in Europe and a degree in Business Administration, she brings a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a sharp eye for detail to the Black Bear team — along with a positive, can-do attitude and a genuinely friendly approach. <br></br> When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her out on the mountain, exploring new trails, camping in the million-star hotel, or seeking her next adventure with her family in this incredible mountain playground. <br></br> 2 NGOs I’d support: Athletes Centre, Aware Whistler.

About Patrick

Driven by a love for the outdoors, Patrick landed in Whistler to experience everything this beautiful corner of the world has to offer. He’s a firm believer that work should be as enjoyable as the scenery, which is why he always brings a positive, reliable, and easygoing energy to everything he does. As part of the Black Bear team, his superpower is staying calm under pressure and getting the job done efficiently - all while keeping a good attitude (and his trusty water bottle) close at hand. <br></br> When he’s not tackling the day’s tasks, you can find him exploring new hikes, trying out a new activity, or winding down with friends. If there’s a view of the pristine mountains, swift alpine creeks, emerald blue lakes or the endless ocean, that’s exactly where he belongs.

About Matej

Our youngest crew member came to Canada for the travel opportunities and ended up finding a perfect fit here in the mountains. He brings a reliable, "handyman" attitude to the Black Bear team—the guy who can fix anything and everything - though as he admits: “My repair skills don’t quite extend to broken hearts yet!”. <br></br>While he’s serious about getting the job done, once you put him around friends, he can be very easily the goofiest guy in the room. When he’s off the clock, his day doesn’t end! Whether seeking some solitude on a solo hike in Pemberton Meadows, chasing extra job opportunities or working out at the gym, Matej stays active as long as he can. His teammates often doubt if his gas tank ever runs out.

Originally from the Czech Republic, my family and I fell in love with the breathtaking mountains, vibrant community, and unique culture that Whistler offers. This deep appreciation made our decision to move here permanently a joyful one, and we are thrilled to be part of this magical town. <br></br> In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and pursuing my passion for triathlon. I’ve been chasing the dream of qualifying for the World Championship in Hawaii, which drives my commitment and focus both in sports and in business. <br></br> Our dedication to perfectionism, strong work ethic, and building meaningful relationships with our family, friends, and clients defines our lifestyle. We prioritize relationships as one of life’s most important aspects, and we strive to connect with our clients to show them that we truly care. About Matt

Always impelled by adventurous ideas about wilderness and pristine nature, Matt traded Europe for Canada. He came primarily for world-class climbing, snowboarding, skiing and hunting. His courageous personality has been challenged here since 2021 and counting. <br></br> His problem-solving abilities, team spirit and “do your own” nature quickly made him the backbone of the Black Bear family. As the longest-serving employee, Matt’s field experience is second to none. He’s a man of action, which means you’ll rarely find him behind a desk. He manages our teams and operations with the same precision he uses to navigate an alpine couloir or a multi-pitch trad climb on Chief.

About Martin

Martin made the move to Canada to chase the North American dream: high-quality mountain biking, snowboarding, and the legendary open-minded community of the Sea to Sky. While he’s a loyal and responsible professional at heart, he also brings a bit of "rockstar" energy to the team—He’s actually a two-time proud winner of the “Anděl” (the Czech Grammys)! What he brings to the Blackbear table is this: a dedicated and responsible work ethic, along with a specialized talent for upholstery cleaning. <br></br>Whether he’s working in Whistler, Squamish, or Pemberton, he’s just happy to be here. Once the day is done, you can find him right where he belongs: out in the mountains - riding, building trails or fixing his mostly beloved bike.

Ivo moved to Whistler to turn his long-term ultimate biking dream into a daily reality. At Black Bear, he quickly earned a reputation as the problem solver - if there’s a challenge on the job, he’s the one who’s going to fix it. We are always inspired by his serious "get-it-done" work ethic. <br><br>Fueled by a never-ending supply of coffee and a passion for excellence, Ivo has been thriving since the very first day in Canada. When he’s not solving problems for our clients, you can find him exactly where you’d expect: deep in the Whistler Bike Park, bikepacking hundreds of miles deep in North American wilderness, or hitting his favourite run "Hey Bud" on Blackcomb.
